That could and probably would mean Tyler Herro heading to Houston in a theoretical Harden trade. Nevertheless, and it goes without saying, Miami would need to add a whole lot more to their offer if they want to entice the Rockets. Olynyk’s contract expires after 2020-21 while Iguodala has a team option on the final year of his deal, 2021-22, one that likely won’t be picked up considering he’s about to turn 37. Neither contract can be considered team-friendly, but there’s still one reason Houston might not be so opposed to taking them on, and that’s because both players have in essence one year left on their deals. That would mean a Miami trade package for Harden would have to include Kelly Olynyk (making $13.6 million this season) and Andre Iguodala ( $15.0 million), whose combined salaries add up to $28.6 million. So what kind of trade package could the Heat put together for the 31-year-old?įor starters, Miami would need to put together roughly $33.0 million in salaries for a Harden trade to be legal. Of course, trading for Harden won’t come cheap for whichever team does pull off the major acquisition, and Miami is no different. could be even more focused on pivoting to find another superstar as soon as possible. Plus, with a major Miami target Giannis Antetokounmpo, who the Heat kept cap flexibility this offseason to make a run at next summer, deciding to extend with the Milwaukee Bucks, Pat Riley and Co. Whether that means continuing to develop their young core and getting them to reach an even higher level or acquiring a second superstar ( Bam Adebayo is an elite big man but he’s not quite on that level… yet) remains to be seen, but the latter is certainly a possibility, especially for a team that operates as the Heat have in the past, making win-now moves when they have presented themselves. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra recently made interesting comments, stating that Miami owes it to its own superstar, Jimmy Butler, to build a legit contender now as opposed to pushing it down the line:Įrik Spoelstra says, "Once we got Jimmy, with our player development in Bam and the rest of the young guys, we felt we had a very special team…We feel a great responsibility for Jimmy to win now, instead of pushing this thing down the line." Brady Hawk December 15, 2020 As the James Harden trade saga continues to drag on, one of the most-mentioned potential landing spots for the former league MVP has been the Miami Heat, a team historically known for its blockbuster superstar acquisitions.

Indian outlet Entrackr previously reported some of the funding details. There are four plans both for retailers and restaurants: Pocket FM and Lightspeed declined to comment Tuesday evening. On average, listeners spend over 110 minutes daily on the platform, according to another person familiar with the matter. Since early 2022, the platform has employed a micro-transaction model, enabling users to purchase coins in local currency to redeem for episodes beyond the free quota. This approach has allowed the startup to offer free access to episodes every 24 hours, with a fee for additional content. Pocket FM - which also counts Tencent and Times Internet as backers and has raised about $93 million to date, according to venture insight platform Tracxn - operates on a freemium model, leveraging long-form episodic storytelling to give users the choice to pay only for content they prefer rather than the entire library. The startup's expansion into the U.S., and offering customers a non-subscription, pay-as-you-go offering has proven especially successful, according to one of the sources. Pocket FM had publicly set a goal of reaching an ARR of $100 million by 2023-end. Its current ARR is over $160 million, two of the sources said, a six-to-seven times increase over a year ago. The funding deliberations follow a fast-paced revenue growth at the Indian startup, which offers serialized fiction and non-fiction content spanning genres like romance, self-help and motivation. The current deliberations value the startup at nearly $800 million, two of the sources said. The investment giant is evaluating financing the round from both its India and U.S. Lightspeed, an existing investor in Pocket FM, is in late stages of talks to lead the funding round into the Indian startup, the sources said, requesting anonymity as the matter is private. Audio entertainment startup Pocket FM has topped $160 million in annualized revenue runrate and is inching closer to raising over $80 million in a new funding round, three sources familiar with the matter told TechCrunch. In fact, when I finally did make it through, I was actually sad to bid my farewells to this wonderful deathtrap. It has strong Amnesia: The Dark Descent vibes thanks to its branching paths and lovingly crafted puzzles, which is pure nostalgic goodness for a long-time fan like me. The solution, which I'll avoid revealing, was quite creative and satisfying to figure out.Įvery minute of the military fort was a delight. Yanking it open would set off explosives, vaporizing Tasi, so I avoided that. In one a booby-trapped door was between me and the sulfur I needed for tank shells. I always rationed light sources for puzzle rooms once I'd identified them, as they're sinister Rubik's cubes that mustn't be rushed. Of course, the lantern comes in handy here, but oil is not exactly abundant. It isn't ideal leaving one room incandescent and another black as midnight on a moonless night, especially when the latter holds a puzzle's solution that you desperately need. Corridors are rife with candles, but you must pick-and-choose which to ignite as it's easy to use up matchstick supplies if you're not frugal. The military fort is where Amnesia: Rebirth is firing on all cylinders. So I cautiously began searching for these supplies. Rebirth’s path branches from here, and you can check this list off in whatever order you choose. But rather than just find ammo, you get a note outlining the chemicals and parts required to macgyver tank shells together. Plopped in the middle of the courtyard, however, is a derelict tank with a functioning cannon – practically begging to blow the gate off its hinges. For example, a massive locked gate stands as the inevitable exit, with the key thrown away long ago. Fright or FlightĪmnesia: Rebirth holds nothing back in the military fort, testing both your noggin and running shoes in the best ways. However, that all changes when you reach the fort. There wasn't a puzzle or beasty run-in during the entire section, just a lot of walking from entrances to exits, which got tedious after nearly an hour of it. As tense as this opening cave section is, it does eventually outstay its welcome. That short-lived nature is why I was thrilled to see a series-favorite brass tool return as well: the lantern.Īfter I dusted off my lantern, the path forward was obvious. That's the gambit posed by matches: you'll find them all over the place, but their protection is fleeting. Then those cold, dead tendrils slithered into view, causing me to wince and waddle as fast as I could to the nearest bonfire. For example, while hunched-over in a low-roof crypt, water droplets from the ceiling doused my last matchstick. The ever-looming threat posed by darkness feels like you're always in the crosshairs of some disembodied malevolence, eager to pull the trigger when your guard is down. Keeping a cool-head is easier said than done, though. Careful to ignite wall-mounted touches and bonfires along the way while not panicking when a match burnt out. Given that they have a one-time use, every matchstick is precious.Īrmed with these miniature torches, I trepidatiously sauntered into the murky depths. A steady hand is essential, though, as any knee-jerk movements will put a match out. It's quite satisfying to watch their stems gnarl backward as flames inch toward Tasi's fingers. After all, tip-toeing about spooky underground tunnels is much easier after a sparked match pierces the pitch-black veil like a hot knife through butter. These invaluable tools are new to the series and vital for keeping your fear level in check. While scrupulously picking apart every makeshift hovel in that first camp, I came across some matches. But this time, there are several means of illuminating your path. Darkness is an oppressive foe on its own in Amnesia: Rebirth, which is familiar territory to anyone that braved the halls of Brennenburg Castle in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. That first encounter left my arms covered in goosebumps, nervously smiling over just how damn unsettling it all was. Flashes of eldritch monoliths and contorted bodies across the screen (courtesy of her dwindling courage) generally signaled that I should quickly double back and scour an area for supplies before moving on. You'll regain control shortly afterward, thankfully, and there are tell-tale warning signs that you should always pack incandescent goods. Flippantly trudging into the abyss without a light inevitably results in Tasi slowly succumbing to her rage while bouncing off the walls in a fit. Staying near light sources is a must as the dark will chip away at your fear level otherwise, eventually resulting in a soft fail state. If I tried stepping in them, serpentine tendrils crept into Tasi's vision, while sounds of insect-like skitters began trickling out of my headphones – a spine-chilling introduction to the fear system. Inside was an abandoned camp, with shadows swallowing up the cave's back end. However, there are some cases where you might want to explicitly use git push origin: If the original git configurations are being used, git push assumes the current branch is the one to push, and assumes that remote is origin. Git push and git push origin will both push the current branch to the remote counterpart. NOTE: The behavior described is for git versions 1.7.11 or higher. When should I use git push origin vs git push? This is common when you are the only contributor to your project, and you want to directly edit the default branch of your project with changes. Where git push initiates the push, origin refers to the remote counterpart of the project, and main is the branch name. Pushing to the default branch can be done using: It’s important to check the name of the default branch. If a project you are working on is older, the default branch might be named “master”, which GitHub changed to remove references to slavery in conventional terminology. This branch is the version of the project that goes into production or the version from which you will create further branches to isolate changes, and merge back into the default branch. The default branch in your project is conventionally a branch named “main”. Git push origin will push the current branch to the branch of the matching name in the remote repository (aka, “branch configured upstream”), if it exists, otherwise, it will not push and notify that the current branch has no remote counterpart (error message: “ has no upstream branch”). Git push origin will push the current branch to the remote counterpart of that branch. You can choose which branch(es) to push to origin: Choosing which branches to git push origin Origin is the conventional shorthand name of the url for the remote repository (usually in GitHub or another cloud git repository provider) for your project. This article is a transcript of the PAW Patrol episode " Pups Save a Giant Plant" from Season 3, which premiered on Decemin Canada and on Januin the United States. Unfortunately, it's occasionally unstable/buggy (particularly with some 3rd party plugins). This has been my go-to app for quick edits and recording simple and straightforward. Runs 3rd party FX plugins, but buggy/unstable with some Rudimentary “gap” marker & “Split by markers” More thorough than I expected (no wonder it's so popular) but some basic usability functions wouldn't mesh with how I work Zooming/highlighting requires key/mouse combos or menu clicksĬan’t play L/R channels without first splitting the stereo fileĬreating/exporting labels (regions) is a bit clunky (but offers leading/trailing silence)Īdding 3rd party FX plugins is also a bit clunky Stereo files displayed as a single track is a killer for me tho. I like the simplicity but it's missing a few basic features. “Smart split” is simple but it works & outputs splits easily I'm also not taking price into consideration in these cases because they're mostly lower cost.ĭisplays stereo files as one waveform-no L/R editing/playback I'm most concerned with: ease of mouse zooming/highlighting & generally zipping around a file, playing/editing L/R channels of a stereo file independently, running 3rd party FX, splitting recorded sections into regions/labels/markers/etc, and outputting those splits as separate files. I only tested these with functions that I use most often (ie: these won't be the same for everyone) but I'm sure some of these have great features I don't know about. Another option might be to see what game developers are using (maybe look around on Steam), options which might look more "game-oriented," but have the features you need.īut generally speaking, it is the case that simple, easy-to-use software doesn't have a good business model, so a lot of it has died out.įirst run on some of the rec'd apps. That's what happens in a lot of professional environments. In other cases, using an emulator for an old OS can work, or sticking with an old machine that consistently runs your production software. OS changes, security measures, language changes, adware, business models other than ad/spyware dying out, "mobile-first" being the only viable option, these all add up to degrade the experience of what used to be simpler, more effective, more direct ways of doing things for professional-quality desktop programs.įor workable solutions, in some cases, migrating to browser-based versions of older software can work, but the restrictions of browsers can be problematic. I'm not sure this is the correct way to view things software for working professionals in a number of fields has gotten measurably worse over time, due to business changes and the shifts in computing platforms making stability hard to come by. ***I should add that, on a daily basis, I use SoundStudio 4 ( ) which is fine for simple, one-off waveform editing but not suited to larger projects involving regions and batch processing. On the other end of the spectrum are the freebie/low cost apps like Audacity and WavePad (and many others) but I don't know if these will have the functions I need and I haven't bothered to find out because I'm not sure if I trust these with an entire sample library production.Īre simple audio editors/batch processors a thing of the past? What apps are people using? I don't need a BMW, just a reliable Toyota. I've seen others like Samplitude, FL Studio, RX8, etc etc but these are expensive and, frankly, too complicated and overloaded with features for the simple type of editing I do. I briefly tried Pro Tools First and PreSonus Studio One-thinking these would be simpler, paired-down versions of their bloatware-but the UIs were a learning curve, simple functions not obvious, and I think I encountered the same shortcomings as with Triumph. For waveform editing, you need quick, direct mouse control on a waveform for zooming, shuttling, selecting, dragging, fading etc etc and Triumph had weird key combinations and odd mouse settings for doing this. I bought Triumph a couple years ago but it turned out to be surprisingly non-user-friendly. Among other things, I make sample libraries which involves a lot of detailed waveform work as well as batch processing. I'm still using an older version of Sound Forge (buggy as hell) on an old Mac because I honestly haven't found a good replacement. everything in a new thread (with prices): Īs someone who started audio editing way back with SoundEdit16 and Sound Forge, I'm having a really hard time finding similar software that can run on newer OS X versions.
